About the Dragonwise Team

about

Dragonwise co-founders Vicky and Deana met at a local mothers’ group 20 years ago, when they both had twins (who are now adults!) Their respective journeys through the work / family juggle took different shapes. While Deana navigated senior leadership in fast-growth tech companies, Vicky founded several successful ventures rooted in education, health, and wellbeing, and has built a vibrant local community network. Between them they have 7 children, 3 dogs and 2 cats (at the last count). Together, they bring deep care, complementary strengths, and a shared belief in the power of women gathering to support, explore, and thrive.

Deana’s Story

Deana Murfitt is a strategist, coach, and community-builder who has spent nearly three decades helping leaders grow powerful ideas into thriving businesses. After reaching her dream role as COO just as her children became adults, she discovered how isolating life changes can be for women, and how few real-life spaces exist to navigate them together. Now, through Dragonwise, the community she longed for is being created: a women’s circle rooted in co-creation, deep listening, and collective wisdom. For fun, she is rewilding her back garden, and loves outdoor swimming! Deana’s clients say she helps them navigate tricky transitions with humour, care and a touch of rebellion.

Deana says,

If I were a dragon for the day, you’d find me basking in a bubbly volcanic spring after practising my fiery swooping.

Vicky’s Story

Vicky Burley is a creative force and clarity-bringer with a rare blend of wisdom, energy, and lived experience. As a single parent, founder of an education marketing business, former homeopath, and teacher of yoga and Zumba, she’s spent over two decades supporting others through life’s many twists and transitions. Now, through Dragonwise, she’s weaving all those strands together—creating the kind of space she’s always believed in: where women can move, speak, and simply be, held in warmth and shared wisdom. She’s the one people turn to when life feels messy and they need a grounded guide with heart. For fun, she dances, laughs, and believes in the power of a good playlist.

Vicky says,

If I were a dragon for the day, I’d glide through the skies, spark a little mischief, then stretch out in a mountaintop savasana, tail tucked round a cloud.
